This document provides recommended procedures for the visual inspection of steel and aluminum system scaffold components and accessories. It identifies defects and unsafe conditions that competent persons should look for when inspecting verticals, horizontals, diagonals, brackets, screw jacks, base plates, wood and laminated planks, steel planks, and manufactured decks. Inspection criteria include cracks, broken welds, deformation, corrosion, chemical or heat exposure, missing components, damaged connections, and evidence of field modification.
